My dear friend, Birgit Schuller, just shared some AWESOME news with me:

OnTrack_Fall2009_200

Her fabulous, award-winning quilt, Shooting Stars, graces the current cover of On Track Magazine (published by IMQA)! And,  if you click here you’ll be able to read the interview with Birgit featured inside.

Congratulations, Birgit! I’m so excited for your great news, and thank you for sharing it with all of us who are true Birgit fans!

  1. Wow. Thanks so much for sharing this. What great insights into a really creative quilter’s thought process. Your prior postings have always shown that Birgit is a very talented person, and this article just affirms that. Best of all, though, is the fact that she is a great friend. Isn’t it wonderful to see great things happen to great people?! Makes you feel good.

Birgit — Sehr cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mega sehr cool.

Fröhliches Weihnachten und ein wunderbares, erfolgreiches Neujahr!

  2. Pat — Thanks so much for your enthusiastic response; I know Birgit will feel honored and thrilled! And as hard as it is to believe that I would actually “share” my favorite chocolate…..I actually sent Birgit a baggie of those treasured Wilbur Buds you sent me. She LOVES them (was there any question?) so there is now another Wilbur Bud convert in the world, living in Germany. So thanks for sharing those W.B’s with me, Pat! I’m rationing them out slowly and I savor one or two a day…..

  3. I’m glad you shared. You are the one who got me started on the WBs. Wouldn’t it be grand if we could get the world addicted to Wilbur Buds instead of all of those other really bad vices?

  4. Kimberly,
Well, you did it again! You really are my US-based public relations manager! Thank you so much for having done yet another blog on me and my work.

    Pat,
You always make me blush! Let me tell you, I have re-read that interview several times by now and hardly can I understand that it was really I who has written this text! It’s pretty amazing to see one’s own thoughts in print (and one’s quilt on the cover of a magazine!). Knowing this, I hardly can imagine how Kimberly will feel once she can hold her new book in her hands and read her own writing.
Oh, and those Wilbur Buds Kimberly sent have been adopted immediately by my entire family. By now, my kids are requesting one or two after lunch each day – bursting out into laughter. Why? Well, during the Christmas party of the Rhineland Pfalz Quilt Guild (RPQG) either last year or two years ago attendees were given a small zip lock bag containing a number of tiny white marsh mellows. They were accompanied by a short poem identifying those marsh mellows as “snowman poop”. Of course, I took the baggy home, had my son translate the poem and enjoyed the kids having fun eating that sweet stuff. When the Wilbur Buds arrived last week and each kid had two of them sitting next to their plates, the two exchange a glance – and started laughing! It was a very short step from remembering “snowman poop” and finding a nice descriptive term for this treat – “reindeer droppings”!!! They cannot get enough of them! Thank you so much for a lot of laughter in my house!

    Birgit
