Busier than….

…..a one-armed paper hanger!

It has been crazy around here. The month of October is nearly gone but when I look at my schedule for the coming week, it makes my head spin! I will be teaching an all day workshop for the Venice Quilt Guild followed by my presenting a lecture for their guild meeting in the evening on Wednesday. Oooh, it will be a fun day! If any of you are in the area of Venice, FL, I hope you’ll plan to attend the meeting and be sure to come up and say hello!

On Thursday, I’ll fly to Houston to attend QUILT MARKET! My schedule for QM is jam-packed with meetings, demos, book signings, etc. Although I know l will have a wonderful time, Quilt Market can also be overwhelming — there is so much to see and do! I’ll be eager to return home just in time to spend Halloween with my family. It is our youngest son’s most favorite holiday.

Last week was also a whirlwind of activity. I had the privilege of attending not one, but TWO sold-out book signing events at Scrap and Sew! I had a great time seeing so many familiar faces and meeting new friends as well. Tess set up sewing stations around the shop and everyone had a great time practicing my double needle machine applique technique (featured in Jelly Roll Quilt Magic) while making a block from the Just Dotty quilt.

Speaking of which…..

If you L-O-V-E this quilt as much as I do and you want to make it using the exact fabric line, contact Tess at Scrap and Sew at 813-963-5200. She has precuts, yardage, or kits to make Just Dotty with ORIGINS by basicgray for Moda Fabrics! Give her a call — there aren’t many kits left!

While at the book signing, Mike C. brought a quilt to show and share that he made using my EZ Hearts Cut Tool.

The border is the cutest fabric print with “lips!” Love it, Mike!

And this next photo is especially for you, Pat Deck…..

When I presented a lecture for the West Pasco Quilt Guild last week. Glenda Beardsley
introduced herself and told me we have a mutual friend in you.  So we took  a picture!

It may be a bit quiet here for the next week, but I’ll do my best to check in and update when possible. Hope you all have a great week!

  1. LOL!! This made my day!

Glenda signed up for the Jelly Roll Quilt Magic giveaway on my blog, and when she mentioned that she was going to ‘to see you at a guild meeting, I told her to surprise you and say hello. Don’t you love how the blogisphere makes the whole quilting world a cozy livingroom where we can all chat while we sew and get to know each other? Kimberly, your livingroom would have to be much bigger than most, though!

Hi Glenda!! So glad you got to meet up with Kimberly. Did she get you all jazzed up to make something with those jelly rolls or what!

  2. I guess I haven’t been blog hopping for a while. Instead, I’ve been staying up very late at night, working on a quilt with a deadline, while watching old sit coms on TV. Oh, and I went straight to JoAnn’s after that guild meeting and bought a double needle, but haven’t had time to play with it–or any of the books and rulers that came home with me! But, my jelly rolls and bali pops are ready now!

  3. Hi! I just purchased “Jelly Roll Quilt Magic.” I have read that there are errors in the book and that you will send corrections. Will you do that for me please?
    Thank you!
