The International Quilt Festival in Houston, TX is quickly approaching! Join me for several days of quilting classes, exhibits, gallery talks, vendor shopping & demos, with many more exciting surprises to come.
Instructors will lead their class in real-time. Students can ask questions + share work with instructors and other students.

Monday, October 26th, 2021 – Spinwheel Star and Flying Geese
Intermediate level
Come spend a fun, informative and inspiring day in class while you create your own stunning, rainbow-colored wall hanging! Kimberly is a world-renowned author, designer, and Janome’s own National Spokesperson. She will teach you her signature method to make this gorgeous star from Jelly Roll strips without “Y” or set-in seams using her Precision Precuts Ruler (or Precision Jelly Roll Ruler. This class is a technique double-header; you’ll also learn Kimberly’s signature method for making absolutely perfect flying geese units using her Precision Flying Geese & HST Ruler with no wasted fabric, no math, and absolutely no stress! Kimberly will share many top tips sure to make your sewing time productive and fun, while you improve your precision piecing skills and learn how to conquer that elusive scant ¼” seam once and for all!

Tuesday, October 27th, 2021 – Snowflake Stars
Intermediate level
This gorgeous Snowflake Stars quilt can be made with strips from just four fabrics, and your choice of finished size! Learn Kimberly’s signature method to construct these diamond blocks with no “Y” or set-in seams using her Precision Jelly Roll Ruler or Precision Precuts Ruler. Kimberly will teach you her magic “one-pin-technique” for achieving absolutely perfect points plus other tips for creating blocks with perfect ¼” seam allowances so you’ll never cut off another star tip again! Choose to make a full-size or a wall-hanging-size quilt and have a great day learning so many new tips and tricks to improve your precision piecing techniques. Wednesday, October 28th, 2021 – Fractured Flying Geese

Flying Geese units pack so much design potential and this pretty quilt is Kimberly’s fresh new design using just 13 – 2½” strips plus background fabric! With Kimberly’s signature construction method using her Precision Flying Geese & HST Ruler there is no math, no wasted fabric, and no stress to make these fabulous flying geese variations! While learning ways to improve your precision piecing in class, you’ll construct these blocks quickly and easily. Kimberly will teach you everything there is to know about the difference between half-square and quarter-square triangles plus how and when to use them effectively in all the quilts you make. She has designed the entire process to be simple and stress-free so you can take a risk with your fabric selections or risk nothing at all. If your fabrics have good contrast, look great when lined up together, and match the values given in the fabric requirements table, then they’ll look beautiful when sewn together. 10″ fabric Layer Cake squares are design powerhouses because of the potential for all the different blocks you can make from them, including these perfectly pretty pines! Choose 18 – 10” squares plus a background fabric and a little fabric for the tree trunks. You’ll learn a fun, new technique for making the large center pines and using Kimberly’s Precision Flying Geese & HST Ruler, the outer border trees are pieced from the leftover bits!
