Fun stuff to share

Just dropping by today to share a few fun things with you. I just love it when students or friends send me photos of the quilts they’ve made using my patterns. It is such a thrill and I always feel so honored! I received the following photo from my friend, Cindy Fox:

Cindy made the Star Chain pattern from my book, Jelly Roll Quilts & More from Moda's Frolic line. Isn't this a cheerful quilt? Love it!

Teri Morrow sent me the following pictures of quilts she has recently made:

I adore this version of Braided Links. It is a showstopper!

This quilt was made from one of the mystery quilt classes I taught at Scrap and Sew recently. Take a look at the same pattern made using different fabrics below:

Different fabrics make this design look completely unique! These two quilts are gifts for Teri's daughter's teachers. Lucky ladies, indeed!

Thanks for sharing, ladies!

Happy weekend, everyone!

PS — Be sure to check out Lucia’s blog here and Stefanie’s blog here.  More fun stuff, I tell ya!

  1. Ok Kimberly, thank you for spreading the word!

Now to the quilts…they are all gorgeous! Isn’t it wonderful to see how people take your pattern and create something so different? I just love how one pattern can mean different things to different people. (the Frolic quilt and Braided Links are my favorite)

Once again Kmberly, thank you from the bottom of my heart!

  2. LOVE these quilts! I’m blown away at how two different sets of fabric can make the same pattern look aso totally different. That Braided Links is so bright and happy. I’m really studying that Star Chain, though. That’s my next project, but mine is going to be a generic-sex baby shower quilt using Animal Alphabet. The colors are somewhat similar, and I love how Cindy has hers laid out.

I have been working on a Braided Links as well, and am astounded at how quickly/easily these quilts go together when you use the pre-cuts. What would our quilting grandmothers think!!

    • Pat —

I’m SURE our grandmothers would be saying, “you go, girl!” 🙂

  3. Hello Cindy,

Where can I find your books? A some friends asked me to make a baby quilt so I showed them some pictures of quilts I’d seen on the net. They fell in love with your Star Chain, and want me to make it with 1930s prints. I can’t wait to get started, but need to fine your book first.

    • Hi Chris —

I’m just tickled that you’d like to make the Star Chain quilt and I think it would be perfect using 1930’s prints! Simply go to my HOME page, or the products page on my website at http://www.kimberlyeinmo.com to order the Jelly Roll Quilts and More book. Thank you for asking!

  4. Love the star chain pattern quilt by Cindy fox!!! Do you happen to know how big it is? I’m trying to make my own pattern and that quilt looks like what I had in mind for ratios. Thanks!
