Helloooooooo……. is anybody out there?

I admit it. I think I’m suffering a little “blog envy.” I read and browse through other blogs and see so many posted comments at the end of each blog entry. One blog I visited today had 99 comments (and counting!) I enjoy reading the comments almost as much as the actual blog entries. My “blog envy” is characterized by a pretty shade of chartreuse and the desire to have some of the folks who read my blog leave a note once in awhile to let me know they’re out there, alive and well, and stopping by just to say “hi.” Quilters and non quilters are welcome.

Don’t misunderstand, I’m absolutely thrilled by the number of people who I know have visited my website and blog, and who have registered to download the free mystery quilt. I was overwhelmed and delighted by the many folks who signed up for the first free mystery quilt! But other than one or two dedicated blog friends, I haven’t heard a peep from the rest of you. Surely, someone out there finished the first mystery quilt, or at least the top. Why not share a photo of it with the rest of us? We’re interested!

What I’d love to know is how you all found my website or how you heard about the free mystery quilt pattern. Was it by word of mouth? Did you use a web search engine (like google), or a shout-out from another blog? Did my Mom coerce you into logging on to read the blog? Whatever the reason you’re here, you are most welcome and I’m glad you’re here. And I’d love to know.

So, how about a giveaway? Anyone interested? If you’ll leave me a reply on this blog, you’ll be eligible for a free drawing of my brand new ruler, the EZ Pineapple Log Cabin Ruler. This brand new ruler makes perfect pineapple blocks with NO MATH, NO TRAPEZOIDS, and NO STRESS! And one could be heading your way for free. Just leave me a little note. You’d make my day to let me hear from you!

  1. Hi Kimberly! I understand how you feel and sympathize with you . If I had a blog it would probably be the same. I am one of those lurkers…I love to read all the blogs and usually I do not comment. I am going to have to begin as I know many of you count on it. Please keep sharing…I really enjoy your blog!

  2. Mary Jo —

Thank you, thank you for dropping me a line. You made my Saturday night bright! (Yes, it’s almost 10pm here in Stuttgart.) Thank you for saying such kind things. It’s so nice to know I have a web friend out there in Iowa! Just out of curiosity, will you be going to Quilt Iowa in July 2009? I’ll be there — would love to meet you if you happen to be going! Thanks again — I’ll put your name in the drawing.

    K

  3. I’m here through Mary’s blog at Quilt Hollow…I love her posts. She makes beautiful quilts. I’d love to learn to quilt when I retire, maybe within 5 years! I don’t get a lot of comments on my blog…but would be willing to link, if you want to? Hope you’re having a great weekend. Natalie

  4. Hi Kimberly,
That ruler is a great give away! Any quilter will be so happy to win it. I’ve been wanting to do a Pineapple Log Cabin Quilt. Just what would make it so much easier.
I haven’t been blogging very long. I’m generally a lurker, look but don’t comment. Found if I leave a comment that person comes looks at my blog. I added one counter then the second one and have seen more people were looking at it than I thought as time goes buy more are visiting it.

I’d love to be in you drawing. I heard about it on the Quilt Hollow Blog.
    E.

  5. Hi Kimberly,

Your studio is absolutely amazing, so much so that i think i have turned a lovely shade of chartreuse.
If it was mine i don’t think i would ever want to leave.

I sometimes feel the same as you when i look at other blogs and notice how many comments they receive. I try to leave comments on all the blogs that interest me in hope that they might in turn visit my blog and one day return again.

I hope you are having a lovely productive January.

PS Can i be in your draw too, please?

  6. This my first time visiting your blog. I found it because there was a post about your blog on the Quilt Hollow blog. (Thanks, Mary.) I am going to bookmark your blog and I’ll be looking at it regularly. I am not one to be QUIET…so you’ll know when I’m here. I comment 99% of the time on the blogs I read. 🙂 I’d love to be entered in your drawing and if I don’t win, I’ll be disappointed, but I’ll want to know where that ruler is being sold. I’ll be attending the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival in Hampton, VA, at the end of February and maybe it will be sold there????
    Happy Blogging to you!!!

  7. Hi there~
I came to your blog via Quilt Hollow. I wanted to leave a comment to say Hi. I like comments too. I am glad I found another quilty blog. I enjoy liiking at them. I will spend some time looking around here and visit again! Hope you recieve more comments! Take care- Louann

  8. well that is so generous of you.
Sometimes its ok not to get too many replies because then you would have to reply to them all.
If you work full time that could be a bit stressful. Also, if only a few people read your blog you develope a nice relationship with them.

  9. Hi there, first time to this blog. Was send here from Quilt Hollow. Would love that ruler. I feel the same way, not to many people come to visit but when they do I wish they leave a comment so I always do when I visit.

  10. Hi – I got here from Quilt Hollow. One thing that I keep in mind (I have a blog-for-pay for my profession) is that comments don’t always correlate to influence. I run into people all the time who say they read my blog, even though the comments would say otherwise. If you’re curious, Google Reader and Bloglines let you track how many people subscribe to your blog, and those can be bigger indicators of readership. Good luck!

  11. Hi! I love leaving and getting comments. I’ve never been to your site…found it through a link on Quilt Hollow. I’ll be back! 🙂

  12. I love blogs and have a few favorites. I haven’t been commenting on them b ecause I just got a laptop this week. Boy is this thing different than what I worked on for many years but it will be lots of fun.

I would love to have my name entered for the ruler. I don’t own many so if I am lucky to win I am sure I would put it to good use.

I will be stopping by your blog more often now I know where you are.
    Jeane in Canada

  13. Hi Kimberly, I know what you mean about comments, it’s just comforting to know someone reads what you put so much time into publishing, and is enjoying it! I have been blogging for 3 months, and still would love to have the comments come a little more freely. I found out about your blog from averettladynana.blogspot.com, and thought I’d come to say hi. As a quilter, I would love to win your ruler, but even if not, I have found a new blog to frequent and enjoy!
    Blessings,
Laurie (stop by! I would love to hear from you!)

  14. Hello back at ya
I found your site while reading someone else’s blog, they were promoting your mystery!
I love a mystery quilt. I also love blogs, I’m a lurker also. When I find a new and interesting one, I read all the way back to the start.
Lots of snow and cold here in MN. Perfect quilting weather.
Keep up the blog and the mystery
    Karen

  15. I just across your blog. I will mark it and follow. Please drop my name in the box for the ruler. It would be fun to win it and try it out. Anything to make quilting easier.

  16. girl, i feel you pain, I don’t have 1 comment on my whole site. Somedays I think I should leave myself a message.

  17. Hello Kimberly,

I like your blogsite. It is very interesting for me the read about other quilters.
I am from Germany. If this is no problem for you to send to Germany, please draw me in for the pineapple ruler

    Hugs, Gabriele

  18. Hi Kimberly, since you wanted to know how we found your blog – I belong to a Yahoo group called Stashbuster and the blog ring of the group.
As time allows I browse the blogs of the blog-rings I belong to and just came across your blog from a mention on the “AverettLadyNana” blog.
Isn’t it amazing how bloggers spread the word about blogs they like?!
I have added your blog to my blog reading list, so I can stop in more often and browse your past posts. From what I’ve read so far you really seem to enjoy traveling and embracing different cultures. I’m originally from Germany, where I met my DH, who is in the US Air Force, so we get around some as well. Currently I’m living with our children in Arizona, while he is serving a one year tour in Korea and aside from caring for our children and pets, quilting is one of my big outlets to keep myself busy and sane while he is gone. Anyway, I don’t want to bore you with more details. I’m looking forward to reading your past and future posts.

  19. Hi Kimberly,
I read about your giveaway on “Quilt Hollow” blog. I do like when people comment on my blog as well, but I think some people don’t realize it that it’s nice to comment. I usually say something, if I am intrigued. I will look at your mystery quilt tomorrow.
I have never use that ruler and I am curious how it works 🙂
Good luck with the new website!

    Happy Sewing!

    Zlaty

  20. Hey girlfriend,

The comments will come in time. Ask me how I know! Also….it usually ends up settling into the same group of people. This is true for me too. I read numerous blogs but comment on more of my favorites or shall I say the ones that are very similiar to my likes and style of quilting. I’ve got a great group of blogging friends but it did take time for them to find me and me them.

I’d love to be in the drawing for the pineapple ruler! I gave you a shout out for pete’s sake! Do I get extra entries for that? LOL You didn’t say when the drawing would be.

Blogging baby steps….it’s kind of like walking into a guild meeting and finding new friends.

  21. Hello! I just made my way to you via Quilt Hollow. I would love to be entered for your drawing. I don’t know how long you have been blogging, but it does take awhile! I know you feel. Keep visiting and commenting on others, show great pictures, and you will make some great blog pal relationships :o)

  22. Dear Zlaty —

Thanks for stopping by – I’m tickled you took time to check my blog out! The Easy Star and Geese Ruler is VERY easy to use — no math, no wasted fabric, no stress! Everything you need to know about making HSTs and QSTs is printed on the ruler. Yikes — I sound like one of those infomercials! (Sorry…) But I’m glad you’re here and hope you’ll come back often. Thanks for the well wishes on my website!

    Kimberly

  23. Dear Natalie –

I’ve actually been to your blog before on several occassions (thanks to our common denominator, Mary at Quilt Hollow!) You have a fun, interesting lovely blog and I enjoy reading about all the things going on in South Dakota. I’d love to link blogs with you! Thank you so much for stopping by. And I promise to not be a “lurker” on your website, too! 🙂

    Kimberly

  24. Dear Elaine –

Thanks so much for writing! I’m very glad you stopped by. Hope you take time to make that pineapple log cabin quilt you’ve been wanting to make. And your name is now in the drawing for the ruler — twice, because you put such a lovely feature about it on YOUR blog! Thank you, thank you! I’ve marked your blog as one of my favorites and will checking back often. Thank you again! Hope to “see” you again here soon.

    Kimberly

  25. Dear Nic —

Wow — thank you so much for the lovely compliments about my studio. I’ve gone from that shade of chartreuse to a bright shade of fuscia! My studio truly is my “happy space” — as corny as that sounds. It is by far my favorite place in the house and I’m in here every chance I get. I just checked out your blog and am thrilled to see you are all the way from Australia. How exciting! Cyberspace sure makes this big ‘ole world much smaller, doesn’t it? Thanks for stopping by. You’ll see me at your blog again soon!
    Kimberly

  26. Dear Pat — I’m so glad you found my blog through Mary’s blogsite (Quilt Hollow) and non-quiet visitors are MOST welcome! Feel free to leave comments anytime. The Pineapple Log Cabin ruler just hit the market within the last two months, and I’m sure you’ll be able to find it at the big quilt show in Virginia next month. All the big distributors picked it up, and I it is being featured in the Nancy’s Notions catalog too– woo hoo! This little buckeye gal (I’m from Ohio) is just tickled pink! See you again here soon!

    Kimberly

  27. Hi Louann!

Thanks for visiting my blog — I’m glad you stopped by! I also checked out your blog, and LOVE the aqua/brown quilt you just finished. It is really striking and beautiful! I’ve bookmarked your blog and you’ll see me there soon!

    Kimberly

  28. Hi Betsy — Thanks for checking out my blog! I do work very long hours so responding to every comment may be tricky, but I’ll certainly do my best! I LOVE the gorgeous cathedral windows quilt on your blog. WOW!

    Kimberly

  29. Dear Maria —

Thanks for leaving a comment! I’m glad you came. I checked out your blog and just laughed out loud at your “No pants subway ride in NY” video! Thanks for making my morning bright!

    Kimberly

  30. Hi Kristin —

Thank you so much for the words of advice and wisdom concerning blog comments and tracking. Coming from a blog professional, those are good things to consider! You have a blog for pay? That certainly sounds intriguing! Would love to check it out!

    Thanks again –
    Kimberly

  31. Hi Michelle — Thanks for coming to my blog! Hope to see you back again soon –
    Kimberly

  32. Jeane —

Thanks for stopping by — I’m honored your found me and will come back again! Good luck with your new laptop. Yes, the “learning curve” can sometimes take awhile, but it will truly be worth it once you get used to using it!

    Have fun –
    Kimberly

  33. Dear Laurie –

You have a lovely, sweet, and thoughtful blog — I was touched by your kindness toward others. Thanks for sharing! And I’m so glad you took time to write on mine, thank you very much! I’m feeling the love this morning with all the kind and wonderful comments that came in over night, including yours!

    Kimberly

  34. Dear Colleen —

Thanks for the great encouragement! I’m glad you found my blog, and hope you’ll come back again. I promise to keep adding lots of great photos whenever possible — as you suggested. Thanks!

    Kimberly

  35. Hi, Karen in MN! Thanks for checking my blog out. Would love for you to read all the entries — if you have time. January (especially in MN!) is a great time to quilt, read, read blogs, etc. guilt free because you don’t have to feel like you’re neglecting other things! Have fun, and hope to see you again soon!
    Kimberly

  36. Thanks, Dot! Consider yourself entered in the giveaway contest, and I hope you’ll check back often! I’m glad you came –
    Kimberly

  37. Hi Deborah — Girlfriends are GREAT for feeling the pain together. No need to leave yourself a message, though. You’ve got one waiting on YOUR blogsite! 🙂
    Thanks for stopping by –
    Kimberly

  38. Dear Gabriele Stabele — German quilters are MOST welcome! (I’m in Stuttgart, where are you?) I’m so tickled you found me, and even though I don’t read German (yet) I’ve bookmarked your website. I absolutely ADORE those blue and white embroidered blocks on your most recent post. Are they ayour own designs. Whatever, they are just WONDERFUL. Where can I get or buy the designs or patterns?

Thanks again — you’re in the drawing!
    Kimberly

  39. Dear Gabriele from Germany but currently in AZ —

God bless you and your husband for his service to our country! I’m delighted you took time to write, and you certianly were not boring me with ANY details! Thank you for writing. I’ve marked your blogsite so I can check it often, too. And I’m thrilled you are the “leader” for your Yahoo group — that’s really cool! Do keep in touch — would love to know more about the neat places you’ve lived. Isn’t military life GREAT?

    Kimberly

  40. Hi Kimberly I found your website from another quilter’s blog; can’t even remember which one… I just love wondering all over and seeing what people are doing. I signed up for your second mystery quilt yesterday … I think it is wonderful that you are willing to do all this work and share with others. But then, quilters seem to be like that. I am relatively new to quilting, and just about to semi-retire – 3 days working instead of 5. I’m hooked on quilting and would love to play with this ruler. I live in Australia; Perth – the most isolated city in the world – and recently visited the USA. The fabric there is soooo cheap compared to Australia and the range is huge, so I bought lots of gorgeous fabric and now want to spend lots of my spare time making things. So, thanks for all your good work.

  41. Love, love, love your studio and quilts. Color is so important in my quilting life. The internet is so great for meeting new people and getting inspiration for another quilt!
    Thanks, Subee

  42. Hi!
yes getting loads of comments is a challenge! mine vary according to the post
I try and post comments when the quilt pictures interest me, or the project your working on, or love the fabrics
    the person is using…
something has to hit me to write. I read a lot of blogs so can’t respond to all of them but I try!!!
I also try and answer if they ask a question or they are looking for comments on their project.
found your blog today thru quilt hollows blog , I will subscribe and be back !!!
The ruler sounds wonderful, multi use is always good
    thanks and good luck
    Kathie

  43. You are very generous sharing all your knowledge and offering free patterns. And now a giveaway! I can’t wait to get started on the mystery. I heard about it from Quilt Hallow.

  44. What a neat ruler idea. I came here by way of Quilt Hollow and will add yo to my bloglist.

  45. Hi Kimberley, I read about your blog on Quilt Hollow. I’ve been blogging for the past four months and I know how you feel when no one comments. Surprisingly though when I check my stats I find quite a few people read my blog (besides family and friends) which makes me very happy! A give away is always a good way to promote your site. Thanks for having this one, please enter my name into the draw. I’ll do a shout out on my blog for your contest as well. Bloggers need to promote each other. Keep up the good work!

  46. Hi Kimberly! First of all, I came upon your blog via Quilt Hollow. I was reading your post regarding comments by fellow bloggers, or the lack thereof. I chuckled as I read because I feel the exact same way! I have visited several blogs and am always amazed at the amount of comments left. On the other hand, I’m lucky if I get 1 comment on my posts. It’s frustrating…lol……and….I can certainly relate. Of course, after thinking about it, I usually just read blogs leaving an occasional comment. Hmmmm…hadn’t really thought about that until now. In any case, let’s not get discouraged, Kimberly. It’s still enjoyable, right? Keep posting!! Oh, and I would love to enter your drawing for the ruler. Thank you for your generosity!

  47. I just luv your new pineapple ruler! I would absolutely want to be in this blog drawing! I would luv to be lucky enough to win it too–I should have my daughter answering then; she always wins, I never do…

My friend Christine started a blog and I have been reading ever since–soon I am going to get up the courage to start my own! When I do, I will let you know so you can visit–see the courage is increasing as I write!

    Thanks so much!

  48. Oh Kimberly I just went back to your mystery quilt and got to your quilt page and realized that I saw you in Lancaster Pa last year! I bought your patterns and rulers at the tail end of your class, as my friend had taken the class and you invited us in at the end! I luv, luv, your rulers, patterns and book (I was the one who bought all of it). So now I really can’t wait for your new pineapple ruler!

I originally got to this site through Quilt Hollow! Yes, yes, yes, please put me in for this drawing! The next time I see your name as a teacher at a quilt show I attend I am signing up–you are a wonderful teacher!

    Thanks so much! Barb

  49. PEEP PEEP!!!!!

I keep telling any one I meet who is remotely interested in quilting about your web site & blog. When I was in the fab shop yesterday filling out my Mystery Quilt fabrics, I told all of those ladies as well. As a matter of fact, I really should print up some slips of paper with the site address on it because I’m getting really tired of having to write it out!

I sat next to a very nice woman on the train a week ago (I live outside of Philly, and take the train into the city every day for work). She was knitting a sock. We started chatting & it turns out that she is a quilter too. She’s a nurse at Childrens Hospital of Pennsylvanis (CHOP), and takes her klnitting to work with her because it is so portable.. She said that when she was home with her kids years ago, however, she would have gone stir crazy if it hadn’t been for her quilting. Her boys still have those first quilts, too! I asked if she had ever done a mystery quilt, but she had not. After explaining how it works, I gave her you site address. I sure hope she checks it out!

Quilters are such nice people, and you my dear have done a lot to bring us together. Following treads to other blogs just makes it so clear that we are all tied together in one way or the other, no matter where we live or what our cirumstances are. Let our peeps be heard!

  50. Hey Kimberly – Mary sent me to visit your blog and check out your ruler! I would visit and leave a comment on a regular basis but I didn’t know you were here. 🙂 I’ll be back to visit often! Don’t fret about the # of comments people leave – sometimes I just visit and don’t leave a comment on a blog – it depends on the post. Now, please visit my blog when you have a minute or two!

I’m anxious to know more about your ruler as I have a pineapple quilt planned.

    In Friendship!

  51. Hi Kimberly! I’ve been feeling a little comment-less on my blog lately, too. I’ve made a resolution to try and respond to every one who leaves a comment — something I wasn’t doing on a regular basis.

Great giveaway! I’m an avid quilter, so please count me in!

  52. Hello,
I am out here…..Darlene(Quilt Daze) sent me to you.I know the feeling of wanting more comments and visiters. My blog is new and started on Jan 5th,so I too am lonely, lol!
    Thank you for the drawing…….Amy

  53. Hi, thanks for having a giveaway! I found your blog through quiltingdaze.blogspot.com. I am a regular reader of her blog, and love to find new blogs to read!

  54. Hadn’t seen your blog before but followed a link & here I am! Bookmarked you now so I’ll be back.
    Chris x
P.S. No idea how to use a pineapple ruler but I love log cabin so would be delighted to learn how to use one

  55. Hi Kimberly, I came via Quilt Hollow. Nice blog! I know what you mean about comments. It sure is nice to know that someone is out there! I will check out your mystery quilt too.

  56. Hate to say you’ve never heard from me. I just found your blog from Quilt Hollow’s blog. But I”ll be back to visit now. That ruler looks really fun! I”m going to go check out how you use it! And I saw your note about the mystery, I”ll have to do some checking around your blog! I”d love to be entered in your drawing.

  57. Hi there…

Glad to find a new blog… will take me some time to go back and see what you have been up to… :o)
And how did I end up here then…
I found you through another blog and hurried over to see… curiosity is a good thing…:o)

    Stina in Sweden…

  58. Thanks for the chance for the giveaway. Here is where I found you http://quiltingdaze.blogspot.com/2009/01/check-it-out-run-dont-walk-to-visit.html

And don’t worry, some of us read blogs but don’t have time to always comment. Giveaways do help : )

  59. Hello Kimberly,
I found your blog through Darlene’s blog Quilting Daze. Nice blog. I will visit again. I just began my own blog last week. I am having fun with it. Please enter me in your drawing. Winona

  60. *waving*
I am here, I got your link from another blog. so far so good..
I am a naughty blogger, I am a bit of a lurker and leave comments hmm sometimes? not every visit, but try to every few visits!

I am checking out your blog and so far so good!

    take care

    Lissa

  61. Hey, I think I got to your blog from Quilting Daze. Not sure but then again I am in a daze. I’m going to make you a RSS feed and I’ll get to see all your new post and I’ll be sure to comment. Have a wonderful day.

  62. I have the same blog envy you have! Might be a bit different color of green but otherwise the same! I heard about your blog from Darlene over at Quilting Daze. You have now been added to my Google Reader so I will read more and probably comment more also!

  63. Oooh, I could use this ruler. 🙂 No special angles/cuts is my way of quilting!

  64. I have often wanted to do a pineapple quilt but don’t like to paper piece. This could be the answer. Please count me in.

  65. Hi Kimberly,
Everytime I try to leave a message on a blog I have problems. Not sure why but I did want to let you know that I read your blog quite often. Not because of what you might be giving away but because I find it interesting to read what other quilters are doing and also I get motivated by them. Thank you for what you do, I for one appreciate it.

  66. Just came to your blog from Quilting Daze! I’m going to check all your posts and see what’s going on in your world! I’m staying inside from the cold today just checking all my blog friends!!

  67. Dear Pat — You’ve been “with me” almost from day one when I began this blog, and I sincerely, humbly thank you for being my biggest “cheerleader!” Your comments have brightened my day many times, and I always look forward to hearing from you. Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm with so many people you meet. Isn’t it amazing how strangers quickly become friends when there is a common bond of quilting? Its just another one of the many reasons why I cherish quilting and quilters so much. My hat is off to you!

  68. Hello! I found your free mystery quilt link on a blog but I can’t remember where. Then I saw a link to your blog on a blog (but I can’t remember where). I have a bad habit of reading blogs and not leaving comments. Maybe I can try to work on that in the new year! :0)

  69. Kimberly, I know how you feel, so lost, sad, wo-is me….just one little comment is all we need to make our blogging day…I just found your blog but I promise I’ll try and comment when I can. Believe you me I can always find something to say.
    Happy Quilting
    Kelly Ann

  70. Quilting Daze sent me over…Ican totally relate to what you said!

  71. Thanks, Kelly Ann! I’ll look forward to anything you care to share!

    Kimberly

  72. Terry — Glad you found your way here — hope you’ll come back often!
    Kimberly

  73. Dear Sandra from Perth — I’m so excited to think there are at least two of you reading this all the way from Australia! WOW, I’m just overwhelmed and excited. Glad to hear you were able to buy lots of good fabric and inexpensive prices while you were in the US. And is it true that Perth is really that isolated? I guess that could be a good thing — gives you lots of time for quilting! Do keep in touch!

    Kimberly

  74. Subee — (what a great name!) — thank you for your kind comments about my studio. It sure feels like home and I completely agree about color being VERY important in not only quilting, but in life in general. In fact, I call quilting my “color therapy!”

    Kimberly

  75. Hi Kathie! I just checked out your blog and love the quilt you have across the top. I love antique quilts, too! Thanks for taking time to write — I appreciate it very much!

    Kimberly

  76. Hi Sharon —

Glad you’re here, and also very glad to hear you downloaded the free mystery quilt pattern. Enjoy!
    Kimberly

  77. Thanks so much, Ruthie! I appreciate you dropping me a line to say “hi!”

    Kimberly

  78. Kim,

I have you on my bloglines. I have too many on my bloglines LOL I understand about not getting comments…….. I don’t get a whole lot either but then I don’t post a whole lot with teaching and all.

    Quilty Hugs!!!

  79. Dear Mam —

Thanks for the shout out on your blog! I truly appreciate your comments and support. You’re right — we quilters/bloggers need to stick together. Don’t you just love this cyber sisterhood thing?

    Kimberly

  80. Dear Alice —

You are so encouraging and supportive! Thank you, thank you. You know, I’ve been a lurker on blogs many times, but since I saw so many other comments it didn’t occur to me that I should be posting something more frequently, too! My eyes are open now, and I see its MUCH more fun to give and receive comments, even just short ones to say “hello!”

    Thanks for stopping by…

    Kimberly

  81. Dear Barb — Isn’t it a small world? I can’t believe you found me through Quilt Hollow, but I REMEMBER you from Lancaster last year! I remember how sweet you were and we chatted a bit after class that day. I’m so appreciative of the fact that you bought my book and rulers! Will you be going back to the QHC show in Lancaster this year? Oh my goodness, I hope so! Do look me up if you do! And in the meantime, keep in touch! It is great to hear from you!!!!
    Kimberly

  82. Dear Karendianne —

Thanks for stopping by to read the blog! I’m very glad you took the time and that you left me a message!

    Cheers –
    Kimberly

  83. Hi. I’ve just discovered your site, and I’ll sure talk at you from time to time. My own family doesn’t comment on my blog. Guess that should tell me something, huh? I love quilting but have no time, so I get my inspiration through others who are more productive than me. One day! Becky

  84. Dear Kimberly
I am not going back to Lancaster this year; instead I am going to Hershey in the summer–July 29, 2009 to be exact. Will you be teaching there? I will be signing up for your class if your are! I like to try new places and have never been to Hershey!

    Barb

  85. Hello from Montana. I’ve just saved your blog on bloglines so I’ll be visiting often. Be careful what you wish for, I see your up to 68 comments already. (Big Grin)

  86. Mary at Quilt Hollow sent me over to see what you are up to. I want to enter my name for your drawing please! I think you will get more responses on your blog if you e-mail people directly rather than in your comments. Unlike Facebook, etc. I don’t think most people come back looking for a response. But what do I know. Maybe your reply goes right to them also. I must browse your blog to see what you have been doing. Have a happy day!

  87. Hey Barb — I would LOVE to teach at the show at Hershey, PA, but not this year as I’ll be at Quilt Iowa in the Heartland in July 2009! (Anybody out there planning to go to Quilt Iowa?) Maybe Hershey in 2010. My kids would just love it if I went there to teach — they’d get to go to the themepark! Do keep in touch — I know our paths will cross again!

  88. I found your blog at Quilting Daze and am in need of a Pineapple Log Cabin ruler.

  89. The lovely and talented Darlene sent me. Sounds like a fun blog and good giveaway.

  90. Darlene at Quilting Daze sent me. I’ve added you to my Google Reader. I’ll be back!

  91. Oh, Kimberly – sorry, you are sad, but this is bringing so many visitors – I’m sure your whole world will change now! I’m from Perth, Australia, too and kept so busy in Blogland, sometimes I think it is a beautiful escape from reality and we are all brought together through quilting and patchwork, so that has to be fun!
    Hugs – Lurline?

  92. Hi Kimberly-
Found your blog last week thanks to the Quilt Hollow Blog and have already downloaded the 2008 mystery Quilt pattern and am waiting patiently for the next installment of this one! Thanks so much for sharing your creativity and your generosity.

  93. Hello Kimberly,
Just a little hello to tell you that I enjoy your blog. Quilt Hollow sent me over. I think you both have alot to offer all of us lookers. Maybe one day I will join in on the blogland..
Thanks for including me in your give a way. MJ

  94. I typically find blogs by following links from other sources….I follow so many links I get myself lost! I’d love to try a new technique so I hope instructions come with the ruler? Enter me please.

  95. I found you thru Darlene’s Blog, Quilting Daze, and I’ll certaibly be back 🙂 Please put my name in for your drawing 🙂

  96. I am a lurker on many blogs as well. I know how devoted one has to be to keep up with a blog. I have a blog and I forget to post things to it. I guess because no one really posts comments to it I get discouraged from posting new things. It’s a vicious circle. I enjoy your blog and learn a lot from it.
    Lydia

  97. I heard from the “Quilt Hollow” blog. I’m enjoying your posts a lot.
    Draw, “Lucy Dufendach”, please.~ 😀

    Thank you for the chance,
    Lucy

  98. I came in from Darlene’s blog too. Thanks for the chance to win the ruler. I want to read more of your blog.

  99. I recently discovered quilt blogs and found yours site from Quilt Hollow. I’m not getting much quilting done, too busy reading blogs! I am reorganizing my stash and found two kits that I had forgotten about. I love “give aways” and Good Luck with your blog, I’ll be backQ

  102. Just found your site through Quilt Hollow. Enjoy what you have to say.
I would like to be in the drawing for the ruler, sounds interesting. I like

  108. I came to visit from ‘quilt hollow blog’ I know how you feel but you have your work cut out for you reading all of these comments. I’ll be reading you now.

  109. I’ve just found you…and could not resist downloading the mystery.
I have ruler envy and would love your shiny new one 🙂
Bookmarked and will remember how nice comments are from time to time as well.
(Lurking is too easy and one of my favorite comment links at the end of a blog was: “Would it kill ya to leave a comment?” 😉

  110. Lurline — Another visitor from Perth, Australia? My goodness gracious, my cup runeth over! I must be the most fortunate lady on earth right now — I have new friends covering the globe!!!!

    Kimberly

  111. Love the idea of a ruler not just for pineapple’s makes sense to me. Mind you I am the one that buys rulers just for quilts. Let’s hope this time I don’t have to buy one, I’d even share. Thanks for the opportunity.

  112. heard you ahve a gie away.
    Just wanted to say hi.
    Love looking at your site.

    kim naylor

  113. I like comments too – who doesn’t?? :0) I’d love to do a mystery quilt but so many quilting projects – so little time… I sure would like to win your blog giveaway though. I love pineapple quilts! I found out about it from Quilt Hollow.

  114. I think you have quite a few bloggers coming to say hello. I found you through Quilting Daze. Please enter me in the drawing.

  115. Hear you have a giveway…am I too late? Pick me, please!
Wow, I’m #114! I usually only get between 5 and 7 comments on my own blog…Hurrah for you!

  116. Your blog is such fun, and so pretty. Rookie quilters like me need all the inspiration we can get!! That ruler looks like a really helpful one!! Thanks for sharing your quilting know-how with all of us!

  117. Forgot to say I saw your Wild At Heart in the magazine! I love it!

  118. I saw your give-away at Quilt Hollow’s blog and thought I would stop by.
I am like you, I don’t have alot of comments on my blog either but I do
leave comments when I visit. I love to see all the talent out in blog land
and have learned a great deal, whether it be sewing or just life. Blogging
has opened up a new world to me and I am sure to others and I would
like to thank the person that invented this process!

  119. I have always wondered if I got beyond the borders of the email screen. Nice to know that everyone feels the same. I have enjoyed the blog and hope to hear/read more…Love Kenya

  120. I totally admire your blogg but have to ask for your forgiveness – I read, look around and enjoy every minute, but as many others I didn’t actually understand that my (or others) comments would be important to you.
Anyway, you should be proud to know that now when I enter this comment you had had 118 comments!!!

So please, for our sake – stay blogging!!!

    Hugs and Stitches

  121. What a nice gift to give! You can never have enough rulers.

  122. Well, you’ve surpassed the 99 replies of the other blog!
I found the link to your blog from Quilt Hollow… I’ve been meandering around the blog world tonight. You’ve got some terrific rulers; I’m glad I found your blog and website. I’ll have to check back again.

    Carla

  123. I love your blog! I would also love to have more comments but my blog is nothing fancy. I’m practicing applique and hesitant to share my attempts on my blog.
I would love to win the giveaway for the ruler.
    Thanks for sharing!!

  124. See how popular you are! There are many of us that are lurking in the shadows, love to read blogs, but shy.

Thanks for sharing that really great ruler, what a wonderful prize.

  125. Hi Kimberley The closest capital city to Perth is more than 2000 kilometres away. Perth is about 1.5 million people, and the next largest city in the state is less than 50,000 people. Australia is about the same size as USA, and Western Australia (WA) (where Perth is) is about one third of Australia, but there are less than 2 million people in WA. We do have one cattle station that is bigger than the whole of the state of Texas!

If you are ever over this way, I would love to show you around, so make sure you let me know.

    regards
    Sam

  126. This is the first time I have responded to a blog. I came over from Mary at Quilt Hollow. I am new to this so I really don’t know what all to do on a blog. I love to read them and get ideas and see everyone’s beautiful quilts. I like your blog also Kimberly!

  127. I have always wanted to make a pineapple quilt. Maybe I will win this ruler to make that happen!!!!!
    ten.retrahcnull@sdaerhtytrebil

  128. I would love your ruler. I tried to make this quilt several years ago and the blocks would not match right. I put it together using sashing and love it anyway but still don’t know what I did wrong.

  129. Hey Kimberly! Just getting myself familiar with this blogging thing and found your site. I now have it bookmarked and will visit often. I am always interested in what others are doing…….

  130. Hey! 128 comments, you’re doing great!!! I would really like to win your ruler, but I am sure all of those commenting would, too. lol

  131. Hello Kimberly, I would love a chance to win this ruler. I found your blog in a roundabout way. I was looking at Quilting Daze blog and Darlene mentioned that her friend Mary and Quilt Hollow was looking for the same fabric she was. I clicked the link to Mary’s blog and that is where I saw her post to check out your blog for a chance to win this ruler.

  132. Hi, Kimberley!

  135. Hi Kimberley,
You certainly have a lot of readers.. more than you thought, huh? My sister wouldn’t complain if we had that many visits to our blog… though we are only about a month old.
I have never made a pineapple quilt, but would like to try….so please put me in the drawing.
I don’t know how I found you… it’s a click, another click and away you go.

  141. Hi there: I log onto my computer everyday and read all the wonderfull news about quilters and their lovely quilts. I am a quilter as well as a rug hooker. I live in Canada. I’m the chairperson for workshops and programs for our quilters guild in Lindsay Ont. Canada check out our blog lindsayquilting.blogspot.com and see the wonderful talented ladies. I have new seen the ruler that is your giveaway. Hope I’m not too late. Thanks for giving us tips and freebees. Linda (linda’s Country Collectables)

  142. I’m on it – great blog. Thanks for the opportunity to win the ruler. I’ve always wanted to make a pineapple quilt. Mary

  143. Thanks for the opportunity to win the ruler. Mary

  144. I’m dropping by from Quilting Daze, What fun I am having going from Blog to Blog. Such inspiration,
I have a couple of little quilts on the go and am needing to get to them. It is so much fun looking at the quilts that others are doing getting more ideas for new one I want to make. It would be fun to try a pineapple log cabin. I tried a log cabin quilt- as- you- go, and didn’t finish it. It just wouldn’t line up the way it should have, so I gave it away, every bit of it. Even the uneven blocks . Oh what a terrible memory. Maybe I needed to have a special ruler to help me succeed. It would be lovely to try again. Thanks for the giveaway.

  145. I’m here – but I just arrived for the first time. Can’t wait to have a look around and see all your wonderful quilty stuff!

  146. Dear Gayle;

I’m just delighted you chose to stop and take a look at the blog — welcome! Hope you’ll enjoy yourself while you have a look around, and perhaps will decide you like it so much that you’ll want to visit again!

  147. You had me at NO math and no measuring. I’ve been wanting to make a pineapple quilt for years but sure didn’t know that there was a ruler that would make it simple. Put me in the drawing. I’ll be back to visit! nice Blog. Carline

  148. I love your blog and comments…keep up the good work. I would like to start a blog someday but not sure I have the dedication it would take to keep up new postings so in the meantime, I enjoy reading other bloggers! : )

  149. Hi, Murray!

Wow — it is certainly a surprise to hear from you, albeit a welcome surprise! I’m delighted to hear from you — and tickled to know you found my website, and this blog, in such an interesting way! The Internet is incredible – in how it can link people half-way round the world in a matter of seconds. I haven’t tried using Bing yet — but will certainly do so now.
Thanks ever so much for stopping by. Have a great day in New Zealand!
