SBQG Quilt Show Recap

This past weekend my local quilt guild, the South Bay Quilt Guild, held it’s annual quilt show at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center in Torrance, CA. It was a great show! Lots of beautiful quilts, a quilt auction, featured artist, vendors and challenge quilts were on display. I thought you might like to see a few photos. The members worked so hard to make this a fabulous event and their hard work and efforts certainly paid off!

The show was well attended by many from the local community. Both days (Saturday and Sunday) saw big crowds which, of course, is thrilling!

I especially loved this quilt made for our wounded warriors.

And this version of Lone Starburst, by Bonnie Blahut, really captured my heart!

The details on this Harry Potter quilt were really impressive.

The hand workmanship on this piece by Bonnie Hutchins was truly spectacular!

In the Vendor Hall, I met a dynamic Mother/Daughter duo who own a local design studio called Pink Sand Beach Designs. Based on all the yummy fabrics and beautiful kits and quilting goodies they featured in their booth, I can hardly wait to visit their shop!

Nancy and Michelle Green, owners of Pink Sand Beach Designs.

If you’re in the SoCal area, you should stop by and see them!

  1. Thank you, loved the peak at the quilt show.

  2. We used to sell so many patterns from Pink Sand Beach Designs. Had classes for them.
    Pretty quilts.

  3. Looks like a lovely show. Thanks for the peak. I’m envious of the attendees wearing shorts (only half way through our 8 month parka season here in Minnesota). Any news on a pattern for your beautiful Pineapple Punch?

  4. Thank you for letting us see these beautiful quilts — that show must have been so much fun to attend! I was signed up for your mystery quilt workshop in Lancaster, have everything ready to go, and am disappointed (albeit 100% on board with the reasoning) that the Lancaster event has been cancelled. I was looking forward to meeting you and solving this quilt mystery.

    • Sue — I just posted the PDF file of this pattern so you can create your mystery quilt at home! Click on the “SHOP” tab at the top of my home page. You’ll find the pattern there.
