Pre-cut fabric packs are the hottest trend in quilt making today and quilters everywhere just can¹t resist these delectable textile treats! But what do you do with them? This fun-filled, technique-packed workshop is the perfect answer to turn all those enticing 2½” strips, 10” squares and charm packs into a fabulous quilt. Let me introduce you to the exciting and wonderful world I call “Modular Quilting, which is “a system of simple, pieced units used to create new blocks, settings or complex-looking designs.”

Using squares, rectangles, triangles, diamonds and a myriad of basic ‘building block’ units, I will show you how to efficiently piece a wide range of blocks in various sizes. I’ll teach you dozens of tips and tricks for using specialty rulers and traditional methods to their best advantage with no math, no wasted fabric, and best of all, no stress! Featuring fabulous techniques from my newest release, Precut Bonanza, I will share every trick in the book for precision piecing and lovely machine appliqué to create beautiful blocks and help you unlock your inner design diva. I think you’ll enjoy my ever-encouraging, upbeat, energetic (and humorous) teaching style. My personal goal is to give you tons of hands-on, personal attention while providing you with lots of options and ideas to stretch your creative muscles. Please plan to join me for a fun-filled retreat and create your own stunning, unique sampler quilt and leave feeling like a precuts pro!

  1. Hi hi!
Very hot in Az, so am staying inside & yes, quilting everyday. Probably hot everywhere.

Say, will this lovely class be filmed & packaged for sale at Craftsy? Just asking for us “old
Folk” who do not travel well! Or perhaps in your lovely studio? Doesn’t matter, just so we
get it! Yes, we all traveled a lot in the past, but home is “Home Sweet Home” these days.
Like Neil Diamond says, “Home is a most excellent place”.

You have a nice smile, get your rest, & do keep an extensive diary!

  2. Ditto to Frieda’s request for a Craftsy class on this or anything else available. Just returned from an amazing Alaska Quilt Cruise so traveling finished for this year! Oh ya…you were there! So much fun! Kimberly, do those amazing blue fabrics all come in one Jelly Roll/10 1/2 Square/Charm Pack? If so, how do we order it? Better yet, will a kit be available? Wish I could join you in Paducah. Your classes are so much fun. Love to help celebrate your birthday. Do you need anyone to tote your bags? I make a wonderful assistant! I know…That’s Mr. Kim’s job! LOL Hi Mr. KIm!

    • Hi Debbie! It was a blast in Alaska — and I’m SO ready to go back!!! Thank you for joining me on the cruise. I’m really glad you came along for the fun! You got SO much sewing done — I was very proud of how much you accomplished! As far as those pretty blue and white fabrics, they were part of the SPA line by Deb Strain (Moda.) I believe there is still some yardage available at http://www.fatquartershop.com, although I don’t think there are any Jelly Rolls or Layer Cakes left (sorry!) But there are so many pretty blue and white fabrics available right now that you wouldn’t have any trouble making your own grouping of blues and whites!! Use your stash, too! And Mr. Kim says a big “hello” to to send you a virtual hug!!!

  3. Kimberly, I would love to join you in Kentucky in September; however, my niece is getting married that same weekend! I love your teaching techniques in the Craftsy platform, and hope that a video lesson of this seminar will be made available online at Craftsy! Keep us informed, please, of the potential for that to happen!

  4. I will also add my request for you to do another Craftsy course. This one would be wonderful. We will all keep our fingers crossed. All the best wishes for success at the Museum, and enjoy your birthday party.

  5. Hi, Kimberly. Miss you down here in Florida. Would have loved to see ya in Kentucky but going on a 27 day Cruise this Fall. Guess that means no other special treats until 2014.
