Honored

I received the most exciting news on my birthday last week!

Designed and sewn by Kimberly Einmo. Exquisitely machine quilted by Judi Madsen, Green Fairy Quilts

My quilt, Fire and Ice, won one of the TOP AWARDS in the AQS QuiltWeek Contest in Chattanooga last week!

BEST MODERN QUILT

I can hardly believe it! My sweet husband suggested we fly to Chattanooga for a day. So we flew down to see it hanging in the winner’s circle!

And as I said, it was my birthday last week. My sweet husband and sons made sure I felt extra special!
My 15 year old son baked that cake from start to finish all by himself (seriously, without any help from Mom!)

It was a very happy week with many blessings!

  1. Yeah for you and your beautiful quilt. I just saw your new book Jelly Roll Magic and decided will have to get it especially when I saw your flying geese quilt in it. I am totally in love with the flying geese block so that is one I’ll have to put on my list to make. Congrats again and I look forward to seeing you on Craftsy and maybe I’ll be in one of your wonderful classes.

  2. Saw your Fire & Ice pattern in my new AQS catalog. I immediately ordered. It is absolutely beautiful; clean & simple. I hope you included the quilting design in the pattern as well. I just got a new George sit-down mid-arm and am quilting like a mad woman. Keep up the good work!

  3. Kimberly–I am finding a few mistakes in your Fire & Ice pattern and wondered if you have an updated version. When I finally have it figured out, I’ll send you what I have found. Congratulations on your beautiful quilt–I am making one for my grandson and he requested it be on a black background. Also I have had to downsize it for his bed.

    • Thelma – There is an updated version of this pattern. I apologize for any errors. This was not the typical top-notch pattern published by AQS and we tried to pull back any and all of the original patterns we could get our hands on, but alas, some of them got away! Please contact AQS first to get the updated pattern. If the issue is not resolved quickly, please contact me at moc.omnieylrebmiknull@ylrebmiK
